Quilted Fish Records OFFERS PRODUCTION DEAL CONTEST
TO LOCAL BANDS AND ARTISTS
Santa Cruz,
CA - November 12th, 2004: Quilted Fish
Records, the Santa Cruz based independent record
label and recording studio, will offer a 10 song
Production Deal to one lucky band or artist. The
winner of the contest will receive studio time
and production mentoring to record 10 songs that
the artist can use towards the release of their
next album. Quilted Fish opens this contest to
all bands and musical artists in the Santa Cruz
and Monterey Bay Areas in hopes to create some
healthy competition amongst the areas musical
artists.
"This is the first contest
of its kind in this area in that we are a Label
giving away free studio time and services",
said Mike Formenti, owner of quilted fish records.
"Music is such an important part of this
area but seems to be suffering from diminishing
support by the community. There are fewer and
fewer places for bands to play and the scene seems
to lack in any substantial organization. We want
to show that we are here to support local music
and to challenge this area embrace the raw talent
that resides here."
Quilted fish is soliciting all interested
local bands and artists to submit a demo and one
page essay stating why they should win a Production
Deal, valued at $6,000, with quilted fish records.
All entries must be submitted by December 31st,
