Quilted Fish Records REELEASES its FIRST VOLUME OF MUSIC
FROM THE SANTA CRUZ MUSIC SCENE.

Santa Cruz, CA: Quilted Fish Records and the Santa Cruz X 103.9 FM announced today the release of "the SCene, santa cruz • music, vol 1". A diverse collection of artist that represent some of the best music that Santa Cruz has to offer. From Punk, Reggae, Rock, Rap, and combinations of all of the above, this CD compilation is the first of its kind in the Santa Cruz area: all bands that participated were recorded live in the quilted fish records, phase3, studios from start to finish. The songs are all new and until now unreleased. "Our goal, as a local record label, is to help put some organization into the local music scene. There is so much great music covering so many genres in Santa Cruz. Much of it has gone unnoticed because of the lack of places to play and lack of local press support. That has been changing in the past year with new club openings and periodicals aimed at directly supporting the local scene. Santa Cruz is really becoming an area to take notice of musically. We are extremely proud to be part of this movement." Says Mike Formenti, qfr founder.

The SCene is on sale now all over the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas and can also be found on the quilted fish web site. A portion of the proceeds from this CD will benefit the Sustainable Fisheries Advocates, a new local non-profit organization with the goal of educating the Monterey Bay Area community about sustainable fish options and fishing practices.
