KPIGS GREATEST HITS, vol. 2
Quilted Fish Announces the release of “KPIGS GREATEST HITS, vol. 2”, the long-awaited second collection of great material collected over the last few years at various KPIG, 107.5 FM, sponsored musical events (Purchase Here). The CD includes 11 musical selections that for one reason or another cannot be bought, borrowed, or stolen and contains some of KPIG’s most requested and sought after music. This CD is once again a benefit for Jacobs Heart and The Surf Rider Foundation. Jacobs Heart is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cancer. The Surf rider Foundation is dedicated to protecting our oceans, waves and beaches.
Antidote in the house!
The heavily influenced by 80's Metal band Antidote recently visited the qfr studios to collect on their second place finishing prize from the 2005 Santa Cruz Battle of the Bands. The finals The Battle, put on by Your Music Magazine, was held at the Catalyst in down town Santa Cruz. Antidote played to a sold out crowd and put on a show that none of the other bands could compete with. Congratulations to Antidote!
The Expendables DVD XXX Rated Has Been Released
Mike Formenti spent the greater part of 05 in the studio with The Expendables and Boogaloo Productions putting together the sound for the bands first Rockumentary DVD entitled XXX Rated (the crew). The film documents the band over the course of a year while on tour taking a behind the scenes look at the band on and off the stage.
Boogaloo Productions selected quilted fish for audio post production and sound design for the project. The film premiered at the 2005 Santa Cruz film festival to a packed house and is currently available on the qfr web site,
The DVD also contains a 4 song audio CD recorded and mixed at the qfr studios containing some of the bands older songs re-recorded for posterity.
KPIG's Greatest Hits, vol.1 Sells Out!
Quilted Fish Records partnered with 107.5 FM KPIG radio has sold out of the limited release of the radio stations first ever album featuring live track of some of the regions biggest bands. With over 6000 copies sold this represents the biggest local release in the monterey bay area history!
